General

Lightning Lottery is a fair and transparent lottery system that uses Bitcoin blockchain data for draws and Lightning Network for payments. All draws are provably fair and verifiable.

We use Bitcoin block hashes that are mined AFTER the lottery ends as a source of randomness. This makes it impossible to predict or manipulate the results. You can verify any draw independently.

Lottery regulations vary by jurisdiction. Please check your local laws before participating. We do not accept participants from jurisdictions where online lotteries are prohibited.

Account

You can create an account in two ways:
  • Email/Password: Classic registration with email and password
  • Lightning Wallet: Direct connection with your Lightning wallet via LNURL-auth
Both methods can be combined on the same account for more flexibility.

LNURL-auth allows you to log in using your Lightning wallet as an authentication method. Simply scan a QR code with your wallet to log in, without needing a password.

Payments

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Choose an active lottery
  3. Select the number of tickets you want
  4. Confirm your reservation
  5. Pay the Lightning invoice with your wallet
  6. Your tickets are confirmed once payment is received

You have 10 minutes to make the payment after reserving your tickets. After this time, tickets are automatically released for other participants.

If your payment fails, your reserved tickets are automatically released and put back on sale. You can try again immediately if tickets are still available.

Lotteries

The draw takes place automatically once all tickets are sold. The system then waits for 3 new Bitcoin blocks to be mined before determining the winner.

Winners are notified via email and can see their winnings in their dashboard. Prizes are automatically sent to their Lightning wallet.

Yes! All draw results are publicly verifiable. You can use our verification tools or follow the process manually using the Bitcoin blockchain data.
